The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Dawnguard

Ja tak! Så er den her omsider: Traileren til den første udvidelse til The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Bethesda Softworks' episke eventyr får til sommer udvidelsen, Dawnguard, og den kan hentes via Xbox LIVE for 1600 Points. Epic Games vinder retssag

Epic Games har en række nævneværdige succeser under bæltet, navnlig Gears of War og ikke mindst Unreal Engine 3, men det er imidlertid ikke alt hos Epic Games, der har været omgivet af positiv energi. Tilbage i 2007 blev de såmænd sagsøgt af spiludvikleren, Silicon Knights, som senest er kendt for blandt andet X-Men: Destiny og Too Human.


Silicon Knights sagsøgte Epic Games under påstanden om, at Epic Games leverede en fejlfyldt Unreal Engine 3 til udviklingen af Too Human, og at Epic Games skulle have brugt licensgebyrerne til at skabe og finpudse sin egen franchise, Gears of War, og ikke til at vedligeholde motoren. Nu har en jury omsider hamret den endelige dom fast: Epic Games vinder retssagen og får nu $4.45 millioner i erstatning. "We are delighted with the jury's verdict and all of the hard work done by the Hunton & Williams legal team." siger en glad Jay Andrews fra Epic Games, nu da det endelig er forbi. Her ønsker vi blot Epic Games tillykke med sejren, og vi håber på at se mere Gears of War!

Epic Games has had notable success during the last couple of years with their Gears of War and Unreal Engine 3, but it's not everything at Epic Games that has been of a positive nature. The developers at Silicon Knights, most known for X-Men: Destiny and Too Human, actually filed a lawsuit against Epic Games back in 2007.


Silicon Knights claimed that Epic Games delivered a faulty engine when Too Human was being developed, and that Epic Games spent licensee fees to create their own franchise, Gears of War, and not on maintaining their engine. A jury has finally put the hammer down on this matter: Epic Games wins the trial and is awarded with $4.45 million. "We are delighted with the jury's verdict and all of the hard work done by the Hunton & Williams legal team," says a happy Jay Andrews from Epic Games now that it's over. We, here at Game Wardens, give our congratulations to Epic Games, and we hope to see more of Gears of War!

Løgringe og Half Life 3

Kan simple løgringe afsløre fremtiden? Er de fødeverdenens svar på Nostradamus? Eller kan de være en del af en markedsføringskampagne? For nogle måneder siden dukkede der et billede op af en løgring, som var formet efter Half Lifes ikoniske logo, men man var ikke helt overbevist om forbindelsen mellem den og spillet. Nu er endnu en løgring kommet frem i lyset, men er dette nok til at kunne overbevise folk om, at Valve har noget stort i ærmet i forhold til E3? Kan det være Half Life 3, som mange fans har ventet på med længsel? Hvis blot løgringe kunne tale, hvis blot løgringe kunne tale. Personligt er jeg skeptisk, men Valve er jo ikke ligefrem kendt for at være et traditionelt studie, hvad det så end er, så kan det være reelt?

Can onion rings tell us about the future? Are they the Nostradamus when it comes to the world of food? Or could they be used in an elaborate marketing campaign? A picture of an onion ring shaped like Half Life's iconic logo surfaced some months ago but it wasn't entirely enough to convince people of the possible connection between it and the game. Now another onion ring has come forth but what does it mean? Does Valve have something truly epic up its sleeve when E3 dawns this summer? Could it be the elusive Half Life 3? If only onion rings had a voice. Personally I'm not convinced at all but Valve isn't known to be a traditional studio, whatever that is, so could it be real?

Ugens Trailer: Dark

Så er det lørdag, solen skinner, og det er tid til at tjekke ugens trailer ud! Denne uges valg faldt på et spil, hvis trailer kun lige har været tilgængelig i en dag. Der er tale om spillet, Dark, udviklet af RealMForge.


Spillet kommer til at handle om vampyrer efter alt at dømme, og vampyrer, zombier og andre horrormonstre vil altid være en velkommen del af min gaming-oplevelse. En af mine favorit spilserier er såmænd Resident Evil og ja: Jeg kan også lide at spille RE5. Især med en ven! Men nu er det Dark, som vi skal fokusere på her. Traileren introducerer os for to karakterer, Carter og spillets mulige protagonist, der imidlertid ikke har et navn endnu. Disse to brave fyre er på jagt efter noget overnaturligt i form af et vampyr-lignende væsen. Traileren er ganske stilistisk opført, hvor den kombinerer elementer fra Shooter og Horror, men ligeledes er der elementer fra Stealth. Præsentationen af studierne bag spillet er præsenteret i samme stil som missionerne i Splinter Cell: Conviction, hvilket scorer bonuspoint i min bog, og den ender på en cliffhanger, der nu er blevet en kliché, men ikke desto mindre er metoden veludført i denne trailer og bidrager til vores lyst til at se mere.

Traileren er mørk og dyster, hvilket symboliserer spillets overordnede setting og atmosfære, og den rammer lige hvor den skal med dens varighed på kun et 1 minut. Den er kort, præcis, og den fortæller nøjagtigt, hvad vi har brug for at vide. Tjek den ud nedenfor!

It's saturday, the sun is smiling and it's time to check out the trailer of the week! This week's choice landed on a trailer that has just been released. It's the game called Dark, developed by RealMForge.

The game will likely be about murdering vampires, and vampires, zombies and other horror monsters are always a welcome part of my gaming experience. One of my favourite game franchises is Resident Evil and yes: I actually like RE5. Especially when playing with a buddy! Anyway, this is about Dark. The trailer introduces two characters: one called Carter and the other who will probably be the game's protagonist, and these two brave soldiers are on the hunt for something supernatural in the shape of a vampire-like creature. The trailer is stylish in its combination of Shooter, Horror and even Stealth elements. The presentation of the studios is done in the same way as the mission objectives in Splinter Cell: Conviction, and that scores bonus points in my book. The trailer ends on a cliffhanger that has become a bit of a cliché, but it's well executed in this case and it contributes to us wanting to see more of the game.

The trailer is dark and gloomy which sets the tone of the game's atmosphere, and it hits all the right notes with its mere 1 minute duration. It's short, precise and it tells everything we need to know. Check it out above!

Nyt Star Wars-spil

Lucasfilm har netop offentliggjort nyheden om et nyt spil i den ekstremt populære franchise, Star Wars. Hidtil er der ingen detaljer om spillet andet end, at man vil kunne finde spillets første trailere henholdsvis d. 31. maj og d. 4. juni på gametrailers.com.


Lucasfilm fik senest trademarked "Star Wars 1313" hvilket kan tyde på, at spillet vil indeholde vores yndlings dusørjæger: Boba Fett. Hans alias i novellen, Boba Fett: Maze of Deception er nemlig 'CT-1313'. Det seneste spil i den voksende saga, Star Wars Kinect, var imidlertid ikke den store succes, og man kan kun håbe på, at det nye spil vil være mere traditionel i dets styring.

Lucasfilm has just announced a new game in the extremely popular franchise, Star Wars. At this point there is no details about the game other than its trailers will debut on gametrailers.com on May 31. and June 4.

Lucasfilm has trademarked "Star Wars 1313" which could indicate that our favourite bounty hunter, Boba Fett, will be in the game. He's alias in the novel, Boba Fett: Maze of Deception, is CT-1313. The latest game based on the saga, Star Wars Kinect, failed, however, to deliver on its potential and one can only hope that the coming game will feature a more traditional control scheme.

Kingdoms of Amalur: The Reckoning - "The game failed"

38 Studios og Big Huge Games lader nu til at lukke og slukke. Skaberen af Kingdoms of Amalur: The Reckoning løb ind i nogle økonomiske problemer, hvor de ikke var i stand til at betale afdrag på deres enorme lån på $75 millioner. Det lykkedes dem imidlertid at tilbagebetale $1,125 millioner, men dette var på bekostning af løn og andre udgifter, og dette træk skulle vise sig at få nogle grimme konsekvenser.


De ansatte fik en email sendt ud i går med følgende budskab: "The Company is experiencing an economic downturn. To avoid further losses and possibility of retrenchment, the Company has decided that a companywide lay off is absolutely necessary. These layoffs are non-voluntary and non-disciplinary. This is your official notice of lay off, effective today, Thursday, May 24th, 2012." Guvernør Lincoln Chafee sagde til en pressekonference, at "The game failed" forstået sådan, at det ganske enkelt ikke fik solgt nok eksemplarer i forhold til målet, som lå på mere end 3 millioner udgaver. Spilbranchen er hård og nådesløs, og især for nye IP'er kan det være et mareridt at få en fod inden for døren. Vi, på Game Wardens, tager hatten af for de to studier for i det mindste at prøve at skabe noget nyt. Til de mange ansatte der nu er uden job: Vores tanker går med jer.

38 Studios and Big Huge Games seems to have reached the end. The developers behind Kingdoms of Amalur: The Reckoning ran into financial problems earlier this year where they couldn't meet payments of their $75 million loan. They did however manage to make a payment of $1,125 million but at the cost of payroll, and this turned out to have dire consequences.


The staff of the studios recieved yesterday a notice with the following message: "The Company is experiencing an economic downturn. To avoid further losses and possibility of retrenchment, the Company has decided that a companywide lay off is absolutely necessary. These layoffs are non-voluntary and non-disciplinary. This is your official notice of lay off, effective today, Thursday, May 24th, 2012." Governor Lincoln Chafee said at an conference that "The game failed", meaning it failed to live up to expectations. To make ends meet they needed to sell more than 3 million copies of the game but it sadly didn't reach that lofty goal. This industry is tough and without mercy, especially when it comes to new IPs. We, here at Game Wardens, salute the studios for at least trying to make something new and original. To the many talented people now without a job: Our thoughts go with you.

Filmen: Shadow of the Colossus

Mange husker Team Icos spil, Shadow of the Colossus, som et af de mest mindeværdige spil på Playstation 2. Spillet giver spilleren mulighed for at tage styringen som den unge mand, Wander, der skal nedkæmpe 16 giganter for at kunne genoplive en pige ved navn Mono. Spillet var anderledes i forhold til andre eventyrspil i dets struktur, som er med til at forklare spillets stadige popularitet, og da spillet udkom i HD for ikke længe siden på Playstation 3, blev det mødt med åbne arme.


Nu lader det til, at vi inden længe får en film baseret på det populære spil. Josh Trank, kendt for Chronicle, har trådt frem og påtaget sig rollen som filmens instruktør. På dette tidspunkt kendes intet til filmens mulige forløb, skuespillere eller andet end, at Josh Trank søger en scriptwriter, og at det vil blive produceret af Sony Pictures. Kan Shadow of the Colossus konverteres til det store lærred? Det vil tiden vise!

Team Ico's game from 2005, Shadow of the Colossus, is one of the most memorable games found on the Playstation 2. The game lets players take on the role as the young man, Wander, who has to defeat 16 giants in order to revive a girl called Mono. Shadow of the Colossus was different from other adventure games in its structure, which is part of the reason behind the game's continuing popularity, and it was met with open arms when it was re-released on the Playstation 3 in HD.

Now it seems we'll be getting a movie based on the game. Josh Trank, known for Chronicle, has stepped up and taken the part as the movie's director. Nothing about the movie is known at this time besides that Josh Trank is the director, he's looking for a scriptwriter and that it will be produced by Sony Pictures. Can a game like Shadow of the Colossus be converted to the big screen? Time will tell!

Xbox360 bør bandlyses i USA

"Courthouse News reports that Judge David Shaw said the International Trade Commission should use a cease and desist order to ban imports of the Xbox 360 Slim 4GB and 250GB models into the US because, in his view, they infringe on four patents owned by Motorola." Sådan lyder det i en artikel i dag på eurogamer.net, nu da der er sket en udvikling i sagen mellem Microsoft og Motorola. Sagen, i sin kerne, handler om, at Motorola har sagsøgt Microsoft for at bryde patentrettigheder i forhold til at kunne decode video på Xbox360, og i kølvandet af dette har en dommer i Tyskland allerede beordret Xbox360 væk fra de tyske hylder. Nu lader det til at være amerikanernes tur til at miste Xbox360.


Microsoft forsøger naturligvis at afvise kravet, men dommeren virker fast i sin beslutning. Til sidst kan det blive præsident Barack Obamas beslutning. Bliver Xbox360 smidt ud af USA? Hele sagen har efterhånden taget en uvirkelig drejning, men det bliver interessant at se.

This is the message found in an article today on eurogamer.net now that there has been some development in the case between Motorola and Microsoft. The case, at its core, is Motorola filing a lawsuit against Microsoft for breaking certain patent rights in the software the Xbox360 uses to decode video. In the aftermath of this lawsuit a german Court has already ordered the Xbox360 banned from the German store shelves, which Microsoft immediately appealed, but it would seem that the Americans are about to lose the popular console as well.

Microsoft are of course trying their best to stay in the American market but the judge seems determined in his decision. In the end the final decision may very well lie with President Barack Obama. Will the Xbox360 get thrown out of USA? This entire case has really taken an unreal turn but it will be interesting to see.

Uncharted på PSN

Sony og Naughty Dogs populære spilserie, Uncharted, er uden tvivl en af konsollens største franchises, og inden længe kan både Uncharted: Drake's Fortune og Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (Game of the Year Edition) købes som digitale udgaver via PSN. Begge spil sælges nemlig fra d. 26. juni, og skønt prisen forbliver ukendt indtil videre, kan man trøste sig med at hente gratis DLC til Uncharted 2: Among Thieves i Playstation Store. Men man skal skynde sig, for når de digitale udgivelser bliver tilgængelige, kan indholdet kun hentes gratis, hvis man har GOTY-udgaven.

Sony and Naughty Dog's popular game series, Uncharted, is without a doubt one of the consoles biggest franchises, and before long both Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (Game of the Year Edition) will be made available on PSN. Both games is set to be released on June 26. and though the pricing is yet unknown one can take comfort in knowing that the playable DLC for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is now free on Playstation Store. However when the digital versions become available the content will only be free for those who have the GOTY version of the game.

Bungies nye projekt: Destiny

Bungie, den tidligere udvikler bag en Microsofts største franchises, Halo, er nu i gang med et nyt projekt under kodenavnet, Destiny. I 2010 underskrev Bungie en kontrakt med Activision om at lave fire science fiction-shootere, som de håber kan blive en ny franchise, nu da Halo er gået over til 343 Industries. Efter planen bliver det første spil udgivet næste år, og i stil med andre serier så kommer vi til at se en ny titel hvert andet år fremover. DLC-pakker, navngivet Comet, bliver tilgængelige hvert andet år fra efteråret 2014.


Det første spil i serien vil først blive udgivet på Xbox360, og de resterende tre vil så også blive udgivet på de andre platforme (PS3, PC). Inde på Bungies hjemmeside kan man i dag finde budskabet, "So, yeah. While we’re not ready to show you what we’ve been working on, we can reconfirm that we are hard at work on our new universe. We can’t wait for you to see it. See you starside in 2013" Det bliver ekstremt interessant at se, hvad Destiny egentligt er, men det kan tyde på, at det bliver stort!

Bungie, the former developer behind one of Microsofts biggest franchises, Halo, has now set their focus on a new project: Destiny. Back in 2010 Bungie signed a contract with Activision stating that they'd make four Sci-Fi shootere which both parties hope will be a new franchise. Especially now that Halo is being developed by 343 Industries. According to the plan the first game will be released as early as next year with future installments coming every other year. DLC packs are also planned to be released in the fall of 2014 and then every other year as well.

The first game will first be released on the Xbox360 and the other three will then also see release on the other platforms (PS3, PC). Aliens: Colonial Marines udsat

For "#¤ da. Endnu et spil udsat til 2013! Denne gang er det Gearbox Softwares kommende udgave af den populære science fiction-filmserie, Aliens: Colonial Marines. Skønt dette ikke ligefrem er et spil, som jeg har ventet mest på fra Gearbox Software (ahem, Borderlands 2), er det stadig kedeligt at se, hvordan endnu et spil nu må vente til 2013 før udgivelse. Men tilgengæld kan man fryde sig over, at de nu har sat en udgivelsesdato på spillet.

"I am thrilled to announce the definitive launch date for Aliens: Colonial Marines.", siger Randy Pitchford fra Gearbox Software. Spillet kommer til at ramme hylderne d. 12. februar 2013 på både PS3, Xbox360 og PC. Udgivelsesdatoen på Wii U bliver annonceret senere. "Aliens: Colonial Marines is the culmination of a life-time of inspiration from the films and relentless passion and drive from the exceptionally talented development team behind the scenes." Der er ingen tvivl om, at Gearbox Software er engageret i deres spil, og det bliver interessant at prøve det ud engang efter Borderlands 2! For "#¤'s sake. Another game has been delayed until 2013! This time it's Gearbox Software's coming game based on the popular Science Fiction films, Aliens: Colonial Marines. Though this isn't the game that I am most looking forward to by Gearbox Software (ahem, Borderlands 2), it still saddens me to see another title being delayed. But at the same time they did manage to give the game a release date.

The developer has already said that it'll be more insane than the original, and that game is pretty ridiculous. Ugens Trailer: The Last of Us

Så er det atter weekend, og vi er klar med denne uges udgave af Ugens Trailer! Denne uges valg faldt på et spil af Naughty Dog, som de endnu påstår ikke er et zombie-spil. De siger også, at spillet ikke er som andre spil! Naughty Dog er blandt andet kendt for Crash Bandicoot og ikke mindst Uncharted, så de har altså kendskab til at lave spil, som i det mindste forsøger at bryde nogle rammer. Historiefortællingen i Uncharted er på det højeste niveau, og grafikken er latterligt imponerende, og det ser ud til, at The Last of Us bliver mindst lige så imponerende som Uncharted.


I denne trailer følger vi atter spillets protagonister, Joel og Ellie, på deres færd igennem et postapokalyptisk mareridt, hvor alle regler brydes, og alle kneb gælder for at opnå det, man vil have. Traileren er ikke spektakulær i stil med Blizzard Cinematics, som er kendt for at levere det maksimale, men Naughty Dog har her lavet en trailer, som er spektakulær i dens rene og stille form. Traileren fortæller en del om det samfund, som Joel og Ellie befinder sig i. Det er en lovløs tilværelse, hvor menneskeligheden er brudt sammen til fordel for rendyrket overlevelse. Traileren slutter af med en cliffhanger, og man har vitterligt lyst til at se mere, men man føler ikke, at noget mangler. Disse afslutninger kræver talent for at kunne lave, og Naughty Dog leverer varen. Tjek den ud!

It's weekend and we are ready with this week's edition of Trailer of the Week! For this week we chose a game by Naughty Dog, which they still claim isn't a zombie game. They also claim that it wont be like other games! Naughty Dog is known for Crash Bandicoot and Uncharted so they do know how to make games that actually try to further the established framework. The storytelling in Uncharted is running on the highest level, and the graphics are outrageous, and it would seem that The Last of Us is going to be just as impressive as Uncharted.

In this trailer we once again follow the two protagonists, Joel and Ellie, on their merry way through a post-apocalyptic nightmare, where rules are broken and everything goes in order to get what one wants. The trailer isn't spectacular like those made by Blizzard Cinematics, who are known to deliver on the highest note, but this trailer is spectacular in its own quiet way. It tells a lot about the society that Joel and Ellie find themselves in. It's a lawless setting where the feeling of humanity has broken down in order to survive. The trailer ends on a cliffhanger and you'll want to see more, but you dont feel like anything's truly missing. These kinds of endings require talent to pull off and Naughty Dog delivers. Check it out!

Tekken: Rise of the Tournament

De fleste af os har forhåbentligt glemt at have set filmen, Tekken, fra 2010, instrueret af Dwight H. Little, som blandt andet er kendt for Free Willy 2 og Anacondas. Filmen er rædselsvækkende og har lidt til ingen respekt for kildematerialet. Tekken er ikke en serie, der vil være nem at konvertere til det store lærred, og det fandt de skam hastigt ud af, da filmen blev modtaget af folk og fans med hævede øjenbryn og åbne munde i chok over denne behandling af Tekken.


Nuvel, det skal siges, at Tekken ikke ligefrem er kendt for at have de mest inspirerede historier, jamen, oftest er de jo helt til grin. Det er en del af charmen. Vi spiller ikke Tekken for at få en Emmy-nomineret historie: Vi spiller for at banke vores modstandere i et orgie af mayhem! Men, men, men. Nu lyder det sig, at man vil prøve med endnu en film baseret på Tekken. Produktionsselskabet, Crystal Sky, har nu tænkt sig at lave en hel serie af Tekken-film, hvor den første skal fungere som en prequel til 2010-filmen. Den kommer såmænd til at hedde Tekken: Rise of the Tournament, og jeg har på fornemmelsen, at den vil blive modtaget på samme måde som den fra 2010, men tiden vil vise, hvad de har fundet på. Jeg håber blot, at de har mere respekt for universet end den første film!

Hopefully none can remember watching the movie, Tekken, released in 2010, which was directed by Dwight H. Little, who is also known for Free Willy 2 and Anacondas. The movie was a horror show and had little to no respect for the source material. Tekken is certainly not a franchise easily converted to the big screen, which they found out the hard way when the movie was received with eyebrows raised and mouths opened by the many fans who found themselves amazed by this treatment of their favourite fighting game.


But it must be said that Tekken isn't known for its inspired storytelling. Well, the stories in Tekken are usually ridiculous! It's part of the charm, however, and we don't play Tekken for its Emmy nominated storyline: we play it to beat the living "#¤! out of our opponents in an orgy of destruction! But now it seems that someone will give another Tekken movie a go. The production company, Crystal Sky, has said that they plan on making a new movie based on the franchise and that it will be a prequel to the first movie. It will be called Tekken: Rise of the Tournament, but I suspect it will be received in the same way as the other, but time will tell what they have in mind with the movie. It might be good! I just hope that they have more respect for the material than the first one!

Diablo 3's Secret Cow Level

Så er Diablo 3's hemmelige bane blevet fundet, og den hedder såmænd Whimsyshire. Det er en udviklet udgave af den ikoniske Secret Cow Level fundet i Diablo 2, men for at lave skæg med klagerne om, at Diablo 3 skulle være for farverigt, er Whimsyshire blevet et farverigt sted med masser af kære dyr. Rede til at slagte dig! Er du klar til jagten?!


Selvfølgelig er man da det! Men hvordan finder man det? Eurogamer beskriver her hvordan, man kan finde Whimsyshire, og hvad man skal være opmærksom på: "You can access Whimsyshire during Act One by gathering five ingredients and the Staff of Herding plan. Powered by Unreal Engine 4

Troldmændene hos Epic Games har været særligt aktive på det seneste, og via deres helt specielle troldkraft og magiske evner har de givet fødsel til noget helt ekstraordinært: Unreal Engine 4! De har nu omsider tilladt offentligheden at se nogle godbidder fra deres nye motor, der helt sikkert vil gøre udviklere overalt spændte og sende dem samt deres spil til himlen!


Wired har fremskaffet sig nogle screenshots af bæstet i aktion, og det ser absolut fantastisk ud. Det bliver enormt interessant at få lov til at se den skinne til E3, og jeg glæder mig allerede til at prøve spillene! Jeg håber blot, at udviklere vil tage sig tiden til at finpudse den, som Epic Games gjorde med Unreal Engine 3, da de udviklede og udgav Gears of War. Unreal Engine er ikke et kvalitetsstempel i sig selv: Den kræver arbejde, tålmodighed og masser af kærlighed, og Unreal Engine 4 har lige opnået min fulde kærlighed! Motoren er, som nævnt, skabt af Epic Games under ledelse af medstifteren, Tim Sweeney, og den karismatiske Design Director, Cliff Bleszinski. Godt arbejde, gutter, lyder det herfra!

The wizards at Epic Games have been particular active lately, and through their wizardry and magical skills they have given birth to something beautiful: Unreal Engine 4! They have finally allowed the public to see some treats from their new engine which will most likely make developers celebrate, sending them off to the 7th heaven!

Wired has got their hands on some screenshots of the beast in action and it looks amazing. It will be interesting to really see it shine at this year's E3 and I am already looking forward to be playing the new line of games running on the engine. I just hope that developers will give it the attention it needs to deliver its finest like Epic Games did when they developed and released Gears of War. Unreal Engine alone does not a good game make: it requires work, patience and a lot of love, and Unreal Engine 4 has just earned my love! The engine is, as you know, made by Epic Games under the guidance of co-founder, Tim Sweeney and the charismatic Design Director, Cliff Bleszinski. Good work, guys!

Hjælp BioWare med Dragon Age 3

"The next thing for the Dragon Age team members and I to do is hear from you… what does Dragon Age mean to you, and where would you like to see it go? We’re excited to hear what you have to say!" Sådan lyder budskabet inde på BioWares officielle blog for tiden med hensyn til Dragon Age 3. Jessica Merizan, Community Manager hos BioWare, forklarer initiativet ved at sige, at "Getting out and talking to fans is one of our main priorities but we aren't stopping at conventions. We would love to open the dialogue online with more of our loyal consumers to foster the spirit of community."


Det viser sig, at BioWare nu har tænkt sig at involvere sin omfattende fanbase i udviklingen af fremtidige spil, her især Dragon Age 3, og det er et forfriskende træk fra den ellers populære udvikler. BioWare har imidlertid været hovedfokus i en række triste sager omhandlende blandt andet enden i Mass Effect 3 og ikke mindst den dybt skuffende oplevelse, Dragon Age 2, men nu forsøger studiet at rette op på sine tidligere fejltrin, og det skal de to doktorer have respekt for.

Dette initiativ kommer til at fungere sådan, at de åbner for bloggen og lader spillets fans tømme de kreative reserver, og efter 7 dage lukkes bloggen midlertidigt, hvor holdet vil overveje de mange forslag. BioWare has been the subject of controversy lately regarding the ending in Mass Effect 3 and the profoundly disappointing experience known as Dragon Age 2, but they are now trying to correct former mishaps and the two Doctors certainly deserve respect for this.

The initiativ will go as follows: the gamers will be able to join an online discussion where they can submit their ideas and wishes, and after 7 days the blog will close where the developers will consider the many submissions. BioWare isn't making any promises by this, says Jessica Merizan, but if Dragon Age is one of your favourite franchises then you should definitely check out the blog already today!


Saints Row 4

Ja tak: Du læste rigtigt! Saints Row 4 er nu efterhånden blevet bekræftet af både THQ selv og nu ligeledes en ansat fra Volition Inc., spillets udvikler. David Payne beskriver således sig selv på LinkedIn, at han er "Lead Prop & Weapon Artist, Saints Row 4 - Volition, Inc.", og Danny Bilson fra THQ sagde allerede inden udgivelsen af Saints Row: The Third, at "I already know what Saints Row 4 is about, and it is wilder than this one, It's a good example of how you take what you have and you say, 'What can happen in the next?'"


Det bliver ikke meget mere tydeligt, og hvorfor skulle THQ og Volition Inc. ikke udvikle flere spil i den succesfulde serie? Til dato har de samlet set solgt over 11 millioner enheder af deres franchise, og Saints Row: The Third kan på egen hånd bryste sig af 4.25 millioner solgte. Saints Row er THQ's mest succesfulde IP for tiden, og det skulle ikke forbavse mig, hvis de vil forsøge at lave det til en længere serie med endnu flere spil i fremtiden. Diablo 3 på 12 timer

Diablo 3 er næsten kun lige blevet udgivet, og allerede er der folk derude i stuerne, som har gennemført spillet på rekordtid. Spilleren, Yoshichan, spillede Diablo 3 færdigt på blot 12 timer og 29 minutter og skyndte sig at poste resultatet inde på neogaf.com, hvor man kan finde nedenstående to screenshots af bedriften.


Det skal dog nævnes, at Yoshichan spillede på Normal, der er spillets mest lette sværhedsgrad, og nogle vil i den forbindelse argumentere for, at man i så fald endnu mangler en del af spillet for at få den fulde oplevelse. Det er såmænd også planen, at spillet skal klares på de hårdere sværhedsgrader: "Wish me all good luck in nightmare! Going for it asap." lyder beskeden ambitiøst på neogaf! Vi, på Game Wardens, ønsker Yoshichan alt held og lykke med sin udfordring!

Diablo 3 was just released and already there are a lot of gamers out there who has completed the game in record time. Activision vs. Infinity Ward: Modern Warfare

Ja da, så er den her igen! Den tilbagevendende sag mellem Activision og Infinity Ward er ikke nem at undgå. Især ikke når Activision nu har betalt tidligere ansatte af studiet $42 millioner i erstatning. Du læste rigtigt: $42 millioner. Det er 242 millioner danske kr., hvis du skulle være i tvivl. Det er rigtig mange penge, som bliver fordelt mellem 40 individer for deres arbejde på Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 men tro endelig ikke, at sagen nu omsider er forbi.


"Although it is a meaningful payment it is only a small portion of what we are seeking in litigation.", sagde advokaten Bruce Isaac, der repræsenterer Infinity Wards tidligere ansatte, og han fortsætter: "It is outrageous that they made us wait, they obviously knew they owed the money and this just shows that they breached the contract." Samlet set håber de på at kunne få en udbetaling på et sted imellem $75 millioner og $125 millioner, så sagen kører altså endnu.

Problemer hos 38 Studios

38 Studios, udviklerne bag Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, befinder sig muligvis i økonomiske problemer for tiden. Tilbage i 2010 lånte studiet $75 millioner af staten under betingelsen af, at de skulle flytte fra Massachusetts til Rhode Island, og nu forsøger stærke kræfter, inklusiv guvernøren selv, at holde studiet fra lukning.


Hvad der helt nøjagtigt foregår er endnu uvist, men når guvernøren træder ind i sagen, så kan det næppe være godt nyt. Tiden vil vise, hvad der vil ske for 38 Studios, men jeg håber inderligt, at de vil forblive, så vi kan nyde mere af Kingdoms of Amalur.

38 Studios, the developer behind Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, might be in financial trouble these days. Back in 2010 they received a $75 million loan from the state under the condition that they'd move from Massachusetts to Rhode Island. Strong forces, including the governor himself, are now trying to keep the studio from closing its doors.


What exactly is going on is as of yet unknown but if the governor is entering the stage it can't be good news. Time will tell what will happen to 38 Studios but I do sincerely hope that they will survive so that we may enjoy even more of Kingdoms of Amalur.

Myst på vej til PSN

Det klassiske PC-spil, Myst, fra 1994 udkommer inden længe på PS3, og der er ikke tale om en forbedret udgave af spillet, som blandt andet har fået en grafisk behandling: Dette er en direkte port! Hvad er nu det? En autentisk oplevelse? Et sjældent træk fra udviklernes side nutildags, hvor alt gerne skal være i smart HD, og det er forfriskende at være vidne til.


Hvorfor er dette en væsentlig nyhed? Fordi jeg har læst så meget om spillet, og om hvordan det er et episk eventyr, der nærmest definerede en genre i fordomsdage, og nu får jeg endelig muligheden for at prøve det! Det er jo nærmest et eventyr i sig selv! Forskere inden for computerspil taler ofte om dette nærmest sagnsomspundne spil, og kunne det så ikke være fedt at prøve det? Det vil jeg stærkt mene! Red Faction 2, en klassiker fra PS2-tiden, gør ligeledes sin entre på PSN samtidig med Myst. Dette er en update som fortjener opmærksomhed.

The classic PC game, Myst, from 1994 is being re-released on the Playstation, and we aren't talking about an enhanced version of the game with upgraded visuals: this is a direct port! What's this? An authentic experience?! A bold move from the developers in this day and age where everything needs to be in slick HD, but it's very refreshing as well.


Why is this something you should care about? Because I have read so much about this game! About how it's an epic adventure that practically defined a genre in the golden days, and now I am finally getting the opportunity to try it out! That's almost like an adventure in itself! Scholars in the field of video games often talk about this game, and wouldn't be nice to actually try it out? I'd bet my money on that! Red Faction 2, a classic from the PS2, is also making an appearance along with Myst. This is an update worth caring about.

Tomb Raider udsat

Så skete det igen! Endnu et spil har i dag fået det forbudte ord, 'udsat', smidt på sig som et vådt håndklæde, og denne gang er det endnu et spil, som jeg har set frem til: Tomb Raider, udviklet af Crystal Dynamics med Square Enix som udgiver. Tomb Raider skulle give Lara Croft den reboot, som hun så vitterligt har fortjent, men nu har Square Enix altså meldt ud til de hungrende fans, at Lara Croft først bliver genfødt i 2013. Hvad i alverden er årsagen? Den samme som Ken Levines, da Irrational Games udsatte Bioshock Infinite til 2013: Kvalitet.

In order to do this, we have decided to move the game's release date by a few months, from Fall 2012 to the first quarter of 2013", siger Darrell Gallagher, lederen af Crystal Dynamics. Tomb Raider var oprindeligt sat til at blive udgivet i efteråret 2012, men det bliver et hårdt efterår, så en del af mig kan sagtens forstå deres beslutninger. Hvis vi ser bort fra Activision's årlige monster, Call of Duty, så er der også et andet spil, der formentligt bliver udgivet i efteråret. Rockstar Games præsenterer... Grand Theft Auto V. Konkurrencen bliver hård! Det bliver spændende at se, om flere spil bliver udsat til næste år. Nu må jeg, og de mange fans, vente endnu længere på at spille Tomb Raider og Bioshock Infinite. Hvad bliver mon det næste?

So it happened again! Yet another game just got the ill word, 'delayed', slapped on it like a wet towel, and this time it's another one of those few games that I am absolutely looking forward to: Tomb Raider, developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix. The game was meant to give Lara Croft the reboot that she certainly deserves, but Square Enix has just announced that the rebirth will be delayed until 2013. What could cause this? The same thing that made Ken Levine from Irrational Games postpone Bioshock Infinite: quality.

It will be interesting to see if there's more games that will be delayed until next year, so the question is: what next?

Ugens Trailer: Harley Quinn's Revenge

Så er det atter weekend, og vi har nu Ugens Trailer klar til jer. Den er kort, den er fed og hun er sindssyg samt djævelsk forførende: Det er naturligvis traileren til Batman: Arkham City's nyeste DLC, Harley Quinn's Revenge!


Traileren er som nævnt meget kort, men den er stilistisk og forførende. Man bliver draget ind i universet af dens udførelse, og fik jeg nævnt, at det er Harley Quinn? Hun er ganske enkelt fantastisk charmerende, og alene af den årsag fortjener hendes DLC at få en plads som Ugens Trailer. Tjek den nedenfor og se hvorfor vi ikke behøver at sige mere! Harley Quinn's Revenge er tilgængelig d. 29. maj og er en del af GOTY-udgaven af Batman: Arkham City.

Studerende laver Portal-inspireret kanon

En ung fyr fra Penn State University, kendt som kss5095, har bygget sig noget ganske ekstraordinært som sit afgangsprojekt i faget Advanced Mechatronics, og nu viser han den stolt frem: En fuldt ud fungerende turret! Inspirationen til denne dræbermaskine er hentet fra Valves populære spil, Portal, og fik jeg nævnt, at den virker?


Den er designet til at kunne følge bevægelser, eksempelvis et menneske, foran den, og den kan tilmed beskyde vedkommende! Dette er en af de mest fede ting, jeg nogensinde har set, og jeg lurer lidt, om den en dag vil kunne købes som en "gadget". Hvem ved? Jeg ville købe den! Se videoen nedenfor og bliv forbløffet over hvad de unge studerende går og laver nutildags!

A young fellow from Penn State University, known as kss5095, has built something quite extraordinary for his final project for Advanced Mechatronics: a fully functioning turret! The inspiration for this killing machine comes from Valve's popular puzzle game, Portal, and did I mention that it actually works?

It's designed to track movements (human movements, for example) and even fire at its target! It's one of the coolest things I've ever seen and I wonder if it may be purchased some day as a "gadget". Who knows? I'd sure buy it! Check out the video and see what the young students are doing these days!

Striden mellem FortressCraft og Minecraft fortsætter i kølvandet af Minecrafts udgivelse på Xbox Live. De to parter har førhen været i totterne på hinanden, hvor fans af Minecraft beskyldte FortressCraft for at være en uinspireret klon. Adam Sawkins, udvikleren af FortressCraft, beskylder nu Markus Persson (Minecraft) for at være skyldig i hjemmesidens (fortresscraft.com) foreløbige utilgængelige status, og han fortsætter med at kritisere spillet og beskylder det for at være en underudviklet udgave af Minecraft på PC. Ligeledes kritiserer han udvikleren, 4J Studios, for at levere et ufuldstændigt spil.


FortressCraft er det mest succesfulde spil på Xbox Live Arcade, og man forventer, at salget vil stige til 1 million inden for de næste 10 måneder. Nu frygter Adam Sawkins, at salget vil mindskes, men han bevarer håbet og siger, at spillerne vender tilbage til FortressCraft, som han inderligt mener er et overlegent spil. Ingen overraskelse der, og det er heller ikke overraskende, at Adam Sawkins nu har meldt Markus Persson til politiet. Hvad der vil komme ud af alt dette, vil tiden vise, men nu kan begge spil hentes via Xbox Live, og man kan selv gå ind og vurdere begge spil. I en tweet gav Adam Sawkins følgende besked: "F**k you and your 'community', @Notch." Notch er Markus Perssons kælenavn.

The feud between FortressCraft and Minecraft continues in the wake of Minecraft's release on Xbox Live. The two have been at each other's throats before when fans of Minecraft accused FortressCraft of being an uninspired clone. Adam Sawkins, the developer of FortressCraft, is now accusing Markus Persson (Minecraft) of being responisble for the website's (fortresscraft.com) currently unavailable status. He also criticises Minecraft on the Xbox360, calling it inferior to it's PC counterpart and also to FortressCraft. The developer of the game, 4J Studios, has delivered a game that does not live up to its potential, Adam Sawkins claims.


FortressCraft is the most successful indie game on Xbox Live Arcade and the sales are estimated to reach 1 million in the next 10 months, but Adam Sawkins believes that the sales will be more quiet due to the website going dark and Minecraft's immediate popularity. But Adam Sawkins also believes that the players will return to FortressCraft  which he, not surprisingly, thinks is the superior game and once the gamers get tired of Minecraft's gameplay restrictions. Adam Sawkins has now called on the police for the so-called attack on his website by Markus Persson and/or his Minecraft community. In a tweet Adam Sawkins boldly stated: "F**k you and your 'community', @Notch." Notch is Markus Persson's nickname.

Så er den her: Assassin's Creed III Gameplay Trailer! Ubisofts flagskib er snart rede til at tage verden med storm, når det udkommer 31. oktober! Er du klar til atter at tage rollen som en snigmorder? I kan roligt regne med, at jeg er!

Diablo III slår rekorder

Der er rigtig mange personer, som venter spændt på Blizzard Entertainments monster, Diablo III. Rigtig, rigtig mange! Så mange at Mike Morhaime fra Blizzard Entertainment nu stolt kan sige, at Diablo III har slået rekorden for antallet af forudbestillinger!


2 millioner spillere verden over tilmeldte sig betaen, og 1.2 millioner tilmeldte sig World of Warcraft Annual Pass, der ligeledes giver en gratis kopi af spillet. Mike Morhaime siger, at "Our players are clearly excited about Diablo III as it's already set a Blizzard record for preorders, including those who signed up for the annual pass." Hvorfor er dette ikke overraskende?! For at fejre udgivelsen af Diablo III kan du nedenfor tjekke et af de første screenshots af spillet, som viste en enhed, der underligt nok næppe vil være at finde i spillet. Det er en enhjørning, der kaster en regnbue fra dens bagdel.

Kid Icarus får næppe en efterfølger

Kid Icarus: Uprising udkom for ikke længe siden til Nintendos populære håndholdte konsol, 3DS, og skønt fans af serien havde håbet på at komme til at opleve flere spil i serien, har spillets skaber, Masahiro Sakurai, imidlertid udtalt, at han ikke har interesse i at lave en efterfølger.


I et interview med IGN siger han nemlig følgende: “If by ‘lasting universe’ you mean to ask if there's a sequel, the answer is no. Because we pushed a lot into the game in order to let people have this short yet deep experience, but the novelty of that would likely grow thin in the next game. For now, my thought is that perhaps we'll see someone else besides me make another Kid Icarus in another 25 years.” Det oprindelige Kid Icarus udkom til NES for over 20 år siden, og nu lader det altså til, at fans af serien kan se frem til endnu et par års ventetid. Det er en skam.

Kid Icarus: Uprising was released not too long ago on Nintendo's popular handheld, the 3DS, and though fans of the series had hoped to see more of this Universe, the game's creator, Masahiro Sakurai, has no intentions of making more games in the series.

For now, my thought is that perhaps we'll see someone else besides me make another Kid Icarus in another 25 years.” The original Kid Icarus was released on the NES more than 20 years ago and now it seems that the fans can look forward to another 20 years of waiting. It's a shame.

Bioshock Infinite udsat til 2013

Så skete det! Irrational Games har netop brugt fy-ordet, 'delayed', om et af de spil, som jeg personligt har ventet længe på: Bioshock Infinite! Denne nyhed bliver mødt med tårer og hjertebrud, men jeg stoler på, at Ken Levine har sine gode årsager til at gøre dette imod os!


Om dette siger han, at "When we announced the release date of BioShock Infinite in March, we felt pretty good about the timing. Since then, we’ve uncovered opportunities to make Infinite into something even more extraordinary. Therefore, to give our talented team the time they need to deliver the best Infinite possible, we’ve decided to move the game’s release to February." Vi må være tålmodige lidt endnu, men vi kan tilgengæld glæde os over, at vores forår 2013 bliver akkompagneret af en uforglemmelig oplevelse. Bioshock Infinite, du er i mine tanker.

Alan Wake's American Nightmare kommer til PC

Remedy Entertainments solide horrortitel, Alan Wake, fra 2010 satte nye rammer for horrorgenren og viste sig at være en værdig konkurrent til selv de største af mest uhyggelige. For ikke længe siden udgav de Alan Wake's American Nightmare på XBLA, som skal ses som et enkeltstående spil men ikke som en efterfølger til det oprindelige, og nu kommer spillet omsider til PC. Det bliver tilgængeligt via Steam d. 22. maj og vil koste dig ca. 90 kr. ($14.99). Spillet har bare én stor udfordring foran sig...

Alan Wake er en enestående oplevelse og bør alligevel nydes af alle - til trods for konkurrencen!

Remedy Entertainment's solid horror game, Alan Wake, from 2010 set new standards for the horror genre and it proved to be a worthy competitor to even the biggest of the scariest. Not too long ago they released Alan Wake's American Nightmare on XBLA which is a standalone game but not a sequel to the original, and now they are about to release it on the PC via Steam and it will cost you $14.99. It'll be out on May 22. but it does have a major hurdle in front of it...

Alan Wake is still a unique game that should be experienced by any and all - despite the obvious competition!
